  • Do I need to pay a fee for the virtual museum?
The Historia Museum is a completely free online museum! The museum is completely student-run by motivated high schoolers who wish to have the same experience of visiting a museum from the comfort of their home.
  • Is it necessary to watch the History of Science videos in order?
We are always adding new videos to our site so anyone who visits can have new material they can learn! We suggest that you watch the first introductory video first so you get an idea of what history of science is! But besides that, everything's up to you!
  • Can I donate to the Historia Project?
Yes! All donations are tax-deductible. Any payment goes towards running this website, advertisements to attract interested high school students, parents, and educators, pay for prizes for in-person visits, and more! Check out our GoFundMe soon!
  • What are Workshops?
Workshops are student-run in-person or online events that consists of short presentation/demo on History of Science, a teaching point on a subject relevant to education, interactive activities, Q & A, and more! All our presentations are free of charge!
  • How long are Workshops?
We generally keep our visits to under one-hour. The longer presentations are for older students in the middle school. For elementary students, we try our best to keep our visits to 30 to 45 minutes.
  • Where does Historia Project visit?
We visit schools, libraries, Boys and Girls Clubs, or YMCAs, we will accommodate! If you happen to be in a region where Historia has one planted, invite us for a workshop! However, if you do not see your region listed but would like a Historia Workshop, we can provide a virtual presentation as well.
  • What happens when the Historia Project visits?
Before we officially come, we'll make sure to have up-to-date correspondences so everything runs smoothly on that day! At each visit, we will run a student-led interactive program consisting of slides presentations, games (chances to win prizes!), and a Q&A session at the end for parents, educators, and students!
  • Are the staff members qualified?
Yes! The most important thing is that these volunteers were willing to take their own time to help your children and students! Additionally, every staff are high schoolers, age 14-18. These students have taken honors, IB, and AP-level classes in their schools and have a natural love for the history and science disciplines and excel in such. If you have any further question about staff qualifications, please email us at contact@historiaproject.org
  • How do I get my own member page added to the website?
Once you submit the sign-up form and you hear back from us about your acceptance, you will then be asked to fill out a separate form that asks for another series of questions about yourself to be posted online for the public to see! A staff member will then create the page for you!
  • How can I reach out to participate in more in-person sites?
Please ask your parents, friends, and teachers to promote the Historia Project and its mission on social media platforms and of course word of mouth! You could also help out by contacting local elementary or middle schools or any youth groups and inform them of Historia!
  • How do I sign up to be a part of the team?
We're so glad that you decided to join a community ready to inspire the youth! Simply click on "Join the Team" under "Join." There you will find more information about what it means to join the Historia Project, qualifications and a link to a Google Form to sign-up.
  • What are the qualifications to join?
For our main staff and volunteer positions, we ask for high school students, age 14-18. We generally accept students who have taken honors, IB, and/or AP-level courses and have maintained a good grade-standing in those courses. If you have any accomplishments or interests in that area, that will also be taken into consideration! Leadership and executive positions may require more specific skill levels. These positions are given on a case-by-case situation based on availability and experience.
  • How often do Workshops run?
In-person visits: dependent on who invites us and our team's availabilities may range from 3-10 meetings per throughout the year (may include summer break) minimum of 3 people in a Workshop Region to run a in-person visit
